When building a brand, an important first step is always to determine the target audience. With a fashion/lifestyle blog like mine, I mainly target young women from 16 to 30 years old who are interested in fashion or work in the creative industry that can be related to fashion. My target audience should be those who constantly look for ways to not be boring, on the inside and outside. I imagine them to have an open mind and a positive heart, and that they are reading my blog because they’re looking for new inspirations.
Inspirations are important in the lifestyle blogging world, or any blogging category, really. When you are able to inspire others, they are attracted to you, thus, making them your audience. Finding your target audience’s niche, focuses, and interests is another emphasis when building an audience. You have to understand your audience’s need first, then you can start offering them your service/ product.
Making sure your blog posts are relatable is good thing to note too. I want my audience to feel like my posts are tailored for them, that they can find what they’re looking for, the INSPIRATIONS, on my blog. My audience should not feel like my blog is just another mainstream blog on the Internet. I want to give my audience the best styling tips, life advice and personal stories that no other blogger can give. I’m giving my audience the tremendous respect when I do this blog, and I hope they do the same for me too by visiting my blog every week.
